Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Three clips a day, ten if you leave an email, and Rip Mode on top. Whole-stream mode is free while it is in beta. No account, no card, no watermark beyond a two-second outro.
Which games?
Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, the One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana and Yu-Gi-Oh!. Leave it on Auto and it works out which from the clip. Prices come from Scryfall, TCGdex and TCGplayer’s daily data, shown in pounds, dollars or euros.
What is Rip Mode?
The camera on ripandclip.com/rip. Point it at your packs: each card you hold up is read, priced and played its sound on the spot. Press record and the whole opening becomes a clip with the banners and sounds in it, ready to post.
Does my video get uploaded?
No. The original stays on your device. To read the cards, this tab sends a silent, low-resolution copy (a few megabytes) to the detection step, which discards it. Rip Mode sends single still frames, only when a card is held up. The finished clip is made here, from your original.
What if it gets a card wrong?
Anything it isn’t sure of is highlighted before the clip is made. Retype the name and it re-prices, tick foil, type a price, or delete it. If everything reads cleanly it just makes the clip, and you can still go back and change something.
Which browsers?
Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop, and Chrome on Android or Safari on a recent iPhone. Everything heavy runs in the tab on your own device, which is also why a phone gets tighter limits: clips up to two minutes, made at 540p. Keep the tab open and the screen awake while it works.
I sell on eBay Live or Whatnot. Can it do my whole stream?
Yes: whole-stream mode takes the recording of your stream on a computer and hands back one clip per pack, each priced and sounded. It is free while in beta.
Can I use my own sounds?
Not yet. You can move the price ceiling of each sound, change its volume, or take it out of the ladder under Customise. Your own sounds are next on the list.
What leaves your device
For a clip: the compressed low-res copy, sent to the detection step and discarded. Not the original file, not the audio (stripped before sending, unless you tick "send audio too"), not the finished render. If a name matches no real card, a couple of stills from that moment are sent to re-read it. For Rip Mode: single still frames, only when the camera sees a card held still. Card names go to the price lookups. There are no accounts and nothing is stored server-side.
The site counts a handful of anonymous events — a visit, a clip dropped, the camera opened, a detection, a finished clip, an email left — with no identifier attached, so I can tell whether this is worth building further. A Meta pixel sees the same step names, never your video, your email or what you pulled.
